23-05-2010 Historic WIN for Berkshire County
Another tough day at the office with two full games of hockey in just 4 hours! Berkshire, the team I was playing for were only promoted into the A Division in 2009. This year we made history by making the finals for the first time in Berkshire hockey history. We got there by beating Shropshire 5-3. Gareth Carr scored three fine penalty corners and I finished off two other chances.
After just an hours rest we faced the winners of the earlier semi final. Sussex, who defeated Cheshire in a penalty stroke competition were our opponents. After a shaky start which saw us go two goals down, we soon gained some momentum and clawed our way back to 2-2. Despite the deluge of chances we created in the second half we were only able to score a single goal which gave us the 3-2 lead and the win.

Well done to all involved, in both the qualifying rounds as well as the finals. My special thanks to the management team for the great organisation and making it such an enjoyable experience.
I hope that I am available to defend our title next year!
